Sold a song to Disney at 12, masterminded a family band in my teens, wrote theater/cabaret in NYC in my youth, quit songwriting for a spell, now I’m back!
I love writing songs that capture strong feelings I’ve had about a time, person or place, and that wrap you in those feelings with a sumptuous arrangement and much to surprise the ear. I’m drawn to seductive rhythms and sophisticated chords, and themes of longing, carnality and joy. I want my listeners to be astonished!

Story behind the song
Making your way to Four and a Half Street was about the only line that came to me some years back when I thought of a friend who was talking about moving to Roanoke to escape Lake Tahoe and a husband who was obsessed with another woman. The rest came to me as a fantasy some time after she died of complications from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Lyrics
Endless snow Nowhere to go and Skies don't seem to get much clearer You couldn't Throw him out But dream about Tahoe in the rear-view mirror A one-way ticket Is yours for the taking Drop all the pieces They'll only keep breaking Till you're Making your way to FOUR AND A HALF STREET That's all you needed Mission completed Some other day on FOUR AND A HALF STREET We'll work out the detail Part-time in retail Or counseling over the phone You could put the chairs right here We know the people To lead you to your next career The door frame creaks The ceiling leaks The stovepipe barely vents the fire But does he care? He's never there Out crushing on some girl from choir A whole new future Is yours for the charting Pack one bag You'll soon be departing And be Starting anew at FOUR AND A HALF STREET No longer an island We're right across Highland And you're Loving the view from FOUR AND A HALF STREET Blueberries blooming Hummingbirds zooming A deck that you can call your own You could put the chairs right here The neighbors will be dropping by later With some housewarming cheer The Franklin Mint Monopoly You begged me to send Now decorates your mantelpiece They knocked a hundred off of your lease And you didn't die Last July
